Stillwater is a college town in north-central Oklahoma, roughly an hour's drive from Oklahoma City. Nearly half of residents age 25 and older hold a bachelor's degree, and the median age of about 24 reflects the city's student population. Commutes average roughly 15 minutes. Housing demand is heavily influenced by the academic calendar, with a large rental share and an owner-occupancy rate near 37 percent. Overall, Stillwater offers a stable, education-driven economy and a steady rental market, with homebuyer demand concentrated among faculty, staff, medical professionals, and families drawn to the school district.
